TOKYO
We're on our way

In 1971 the one-time band The Specials released a record called 'Ajax wins the Worldcup'. From the Ajax stadium De Meer to Waterloo Square, from players' home to the pub, this song was to be heard everywhere. A huge number of singles was sold, the song became an instant hit and Ajax subsequently won the championship.
Was all of this just a coincidence? Or does chance not exist and are you too a little superstitious? No hit, no championship?
Let's make sure together that history repeats itself. So as to leave nothing to chance.

'Tokyo': the 1995 World-Cup song
The 1995 World-Cup song is called 'Tokyo (Olé, Olé)' and will be in all the record shops from Wednesday 26 October onwards. The song has been written by Hans Vandenburg, the balding lead singer of the famous Dutch pop group Gruppo Sportivo. At the request of the Amsterdam communication team Music Trends Media (MTM), where most employees are extremely Ajax-minded, he's added Dutch lyrics to his old hit 'Tokyo'. Just because we seem to like songs in our own language. Marco Borsato, Guus Meeuwisse, Danny Lukassen en now Hans Vandenburg. But he's not alone!

A team of Ajax supporters sings along
Hans Vandenburg doesn't sing all by himself but does so together with eleven loyal Ajax fans, who are also singing on your behalf. There's no way then this single won't be a superhit, all the way from here to Tokyo.
Stick with the singing and footballing team and run off to the record shop to score that single. And there's more you can do to boost the morale of our lads. If things work out organisationally, Hans Vandenburg will perform at quite a number of home matches, starting with Ajax against the Grasshoppers (18 October) until the end of November. And you can be sure to hear that CD-single. So open your mouth and let everyone hear that you'll need to be selected for the next World-Cup song. As a singer. Or a groupie.

35% discount for Ajax supporters
Upon showing you Ajax Supporters' Clubcard you'll get a 35% discount on the special CD-single 'Tokyo' in all Free Record Shops. Instead of the regular price of Fl. 15,95 members of the Ajax Supporters Association will only pay Fl.10,-. Pretty neat, right! And all that when 'Tokyo' includes another three smashing songs.
Everything in life should really be cheaper for Ajax fans. This, in any case, is a step in the right direction.
